book coverWaking Up Eve

by Darci Knowles

It isn’t often that a wordsmith and student of metaphysics writes a can’t-put-down novel that grips, teaches and enlightens. But that’s what Darci Knowles has done in Waking Up Eve, a psychological thriller that, amazingly, is the author’s debut work.

Protagonist Eve Whitman, successful lawyer and victim of repressed memories and desires is under the care of a psychiatrist. Using hypnosis, he is trying to acquaint Eve with her past. Now enter handsome stranger Kyle Jordan whose very being sparks a love interest and desire Eve never felt before. Why?

Waking Up Eve is (as all great books are) written on several levels. On the surface, Ms. Knowles gives us a book well written in short paragraphs and chapters, that keeps the reader turning the page in eager anticipation of the next stop in Eve’s adventure. But underneath is a story of an awakening to truth, reclamation of power and understanding that we are who we were; and a journey to discovery and enlightenment.

Darci Knowles writes about karmic debt and the forgiveness necessary to fulfill one’s true destiny. In the telling, Eve learns the secrets of her past that her psychiatrist knew, but couldn’t or wouldn’t reveal.

Waking Up Eve is an exploration of the paybacks of the past, to achieve an awaking to the present and a vision of the future. Darci Knowles, in this reviewer’s opinion, is the next major writer in the league of Scott Turow and E. J. Michael. Don’t miss this one!
