Often, when parents divorce, they do not understand the trauma it causes their children. Author, counselor and Feng Shui Master Denis DuBos does, and has crafted a truly delightful children’s book with an intriguing and educational message, The Angel Next Door, specifically for divorce situations.
Susan just can’t understand why she and her mom were moving to another house, without her dad. “She was very sad and felt like she had done something to make them divorce.” But then, a little girl named Angel, came from next door to visit. And she brought a puppy. “She found Susan sitting on her bed. Susan would not look at her. Just then Susan felt the cold nose of a puppy licking her hands.”
“I heard you were sad and wanted to help make you happy. That is why I brought over my puppy!” After Angel had gone Susan said, “Mom, her parents are divorcing and yet she is happy.” Her mother told her, “Just because your daddy and mommy don’t live together does not mean they do not love you.”
So Susan discovered a happy truth, and as she told her mother, “I have a new friend. She has no daddy at home like me...she told me a secret...no matter what, my daddy loves me just like hers does.”
The very next day, Susan went outside expecting to play with Angel but instead found Angel’s puppy wearing a note, “Everything will be fine”. And that’s when Susan discovered that no one lived next door, and that a real angel was watching over her.
